N2 - A novel cylindrical transverse-flux permanentmagnet linear machine (TFPMLM) is proposed in this paper. It aims to solve the problems of high flux leakage and low power factor existing in the traditional TFPMLM, with good manufacturability. As the main reason of low power factor, the flux leakage of transverse flux machine is investigated. The flux leakages of different schemes are compared. A favorable scheme is achieved.
