Abstract
Alloy melt filling characteristics under the travelling wave magnetic field of thin-walled parts were studied by using the low melting point gallium-indium-tin alloy physical simulation method, thus the alloy melt filling rule and the main reason for the casting defects such as gas hole, cold shut were obtained. Stress states in the filling process of alloy melt were analyzed. After the uniform electromagnetic force above traveling wave magnetic field and other force applied to alloy melt, the movement characteristics of alloy melt is acceleration-uniform-slow down during filling mold. The result shows that monotone decreasing electromagnetic thrust along filling direction is to make the alloy melt filling into the uniform phase as soon as possible, which is the key to solve the casting defects such as gas hole, cold shut.
