Abstract

This chapter studies fault isolation based on directional residual generation for continuous-time LTI systems with actuator faults. First, the directional residual generator design method is introduced for systems with fully measurable states. Second, the directional residual generator design is studied for general LTI systems, where the state variables may not be fully measured. Finally, an FDI scheme is proposed based on the directional residual generator.
