Abstract

The condenser of nuclear power system for icebreaker is prone to scale and corrosion when it works in seawater environment, which affects the heat transfer performance and operation safety of the condenser. The traditional monitoring method of condenser tube wall cleanliness relying on terminal difference, thermal resistance and heat transfer coefficient is difficult to realize the fault early sensitive detection of condenser because of the influence of environmental and working conditions. Aiming at the characteristics of the condenser in the icebreaker nuclear power system, this paper reveals the influence law of disturbance factors on the condenser fault detection based on mechanism modeling and simulation, and develops fault detection and early warning method for condenser based on normal mode extraction. The robustness and validity of the proposed method and the sensitivity of detection of weak signs at the early stage of failure are verified by the actual operation data.
