Abstract

Physical model, parallel incidence of laser in two dimensional and semi-transparent media, is developed. False scattering in the Monte Carlo method (MCM) and discrete transfer method (DTM) is analyzed by utilizing the model. Ray effects in MCM and DTM are studied by analyzing the net heat flux of boundary. It deems that: there is no false scattering in MCM and DTM; there is no ray effect in MCM, and ray effects exist in DTM. In DTM, ray effects decrease with the increasing of the number of rays.
