Fabry-Pérot Interferometer-Based Raman Mirror Position Measurement Method for Cold Atom Gravimeter

Abstract

Cold atom gravimeter’s measurement accuracy is strongly affected by position stability of Raman mirror. A Raman mirror position measurement method using Fabry-Pérot interferometer for cold atom gravimeter is proposed. The Fabry-Pérot interferometer is used to measure the position changes of the three points of the Raman reflector, and then the three-dimensional coordinates of the three points were calculated, and finally the influence of the position change and inclination angle change of the center of the Raman reflector on the cold atom gravimeter was compensated. Theoretical analysis shows that the proposed method can effectively reduce the gravity measurement error caused by the position instability of Raman mirror. The simulation results show that the gravity measurement error can be reduced by a maximum of 16.299 mGal. Compared with the traditional method that only considers the position of the Raman mirror, the proposed method innovatively takes vertical deflection into account, which can more effectively compensate the gravity measurement error caused by the instability of the Raman mirror. The proposed method can effectively reduce the measurement uncertainty of cold atom gravimeter, and improve the robustness and stability of the cold atom gravimeter.
