Abstract

Mo-Si-N anti-oxidation coating, i.e. Si3N4MoSi2/Si-SiC multi-layer was fabricated by Nitrogen introduced during sintering to synthesize Mo-Si fused-slurry coating for C/C composites, and its oxidation resistance was investigated primarily. The results indicate that the density of coating is controlled by start-nitrizing-temperature, only it is a dense coating without macro-defects obtained, which possess inner-layer SiC and middle-layer MoSi2/Si and outer-layer Si3N4, when the start-nitrizing-temperature is above Si melting point was adopted. The oxidation resistance of this coating relates to MoSi2 content in coating. The compared with Mo-Si coating, oxidation resistance of Mo-Si-N coating with 30vol% or 40vol% MoSi2 was improved, and anti-oxidation temperature increases up to 1400°C~1450°C.
