Abstract
The nonlinear polarization-vector translation method proposed by A.J. Poelman can effectively decrease the number of notches of multinotch polarization filter, which makes the real-time processing of the multinotch polarization filter possible. But the algorithm is only described by geometrical parameters-ellipticity ratio and orientation angle that define the polarization ellipse. For its application in other situations, expression of the nonlinear PVT by electric parameters-amplitude polarization parameter and phase polarization parameter that define the electric field components is analyzed. This expression has all properties of the nonlinear PVT expressed by geometrical parameters and can be used in the suppression of interference and clutter in radar system. A simulation of sky- wave interference suppression in HF ground wave radar system is realized to explain its application in reality.
