Abstract
The refractive index of many materials depends upon the intensity of the light propagating through it. The optical activity will be varied due to the changed refractive index. The practical formulation of Δn is given. The characteristic about the nonlinear optical activity vs. elliptically character parameter is analyzed. The nonlinear rotation angle of chiral medium (P-thienylenevinylene) under normal optical field is calculated.
