Abstract
The precise model for distortion correction is a fifth-order polynomial which includes the radial distortion coefficient (k1, k2) and the tangential distortion coefficient (p1, p2), and it is difficult to obtain its iterative solution. An explicit-implicit correction method for the image distortion is presented. This method combines the explicit method and the implicit method. An explicit-implicit model is constructed by (k1, k2),(p1, p2) and the correction on coefficient λn (1 ≤ n ≤ 4) which has no physical meanings. The least squares technique is used to solve this model, and then the image distortion is corrected. The experimental results show that the solution to this explicit-implicit correction method is easy and the precision of the distortion correction is high.
