Experimental Study on Wavy Edge Aerodynamic Characteristics of Big Thick of Wind Turbine Airfoil

Abstract

In this paper, through wind tunnel experiment of DU40 smooth airfoil, DU40-11wavy and DU40-25wavy two kinds of bionic wind airfoil flow field test, aerodynamic parameters in Re = 2×105. The typical attack angle of oil flow visualization experiment, flow control characteristics of concave and convex front of big thickness airfoil of wind power. The results showed that: the experimental results of two kinds of bionic wind airfoil in smooth airfoil stall after the lift increase, at the same time DU40-11wavy airfoil at pre stall zone, the aerodynamic performance of airfoil 3% lower compared to the smooth, compared to demonstrate the good performance of DU40-25wavy airfoil DU40-11wavy airfoil, display the flow field experiments show that the convex hull section wavy front corresponding delay flow separation, valley section of early separation.
