Experimental study on the behavior of confined grouted concrete block masonry under axial compression

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The border compression zone of reinforced concrete block shearwall was studied. Experimental research on its seismic behavior affected by the confined stirrups was done. In total, 24 tests were conducted for 8 kinds of pattern under axial compression. Failure mode, bearing capacity and deformation characteristic of confined grouted concrete block masonry were achieved. The influence of the different confined patterns on its strength and deformation was discussed. From the analysis results, it can be seen that the compressive capacity of confined block masonry can be improved by the appropriate pattern.
