Abstract

Experiments were conducted in a small bubbling absorber apparatus to study the effect of additives such as CaCl2 and MgO on wet flue gas desulphurization, using sorbents such as Ca(OH)2, CaCO3, and MgO. Experimental results show that CaCl2 and MgO are good additives for Ca(OH)2 and CaCO3 as sorbents. But for MgO as sorbent and CaCl2 as additive, the SO2 absorbing efficiency is not good, and the reason is explained.
