Abstract

Using a three-component PDA system, the near-burner characteristics of gas-particle flows with the radial bias combustion (RBC) burner and the volute burner were tested on the gas-particle phase test bench. It was found that with the RBC burner, particle concentration is higher near the edge of the central recirculation zone (CRZ), and so it is in the CRZ, on the contrary, with the volute burner, particle concentration is lower near the edge of the CRZ and in the CRZ, but it is higher in the wall zone. The influence of two phase flow characteristic on the burner's performance were analyzed. The industrial test verified that the RBC burner has high combustion efficiency, flame stability, low NOx emission and resistance to slagging and temperature corrosion.
