Abstract

To solve the precision problem of carbon/carbon material's ablation property theoretical prediction, the microstructure develop situation in material caused by volume ablation had been investigated by test. The microstructure's regularities of distribution along ablation axial line were proposed. The contribution of volume ablation to carbon/carbon material's ablation property had been studied. The results show that under service environment carbon/carbon material's interior density and degree of graphitization would change due to the volume ablation, these microstructure developments would affect the ablation property of carbon/carbon material in a complex way. The effect of volume ablation to carbon/carbon material's ablation property was not always negative, on the contrary, under some situation it could prove the material's ablation property.
