Abstract

Based on the test results of the compression prismatic specimens, an optimal mix ratio of reactive powder concrete (RPC) cured at normal temperature and the equation of the ascending part of stress-strain curve of RPC based on the ratio were obtained. On the basis of the experiment on flexural property of 5 RPC beams, the compressive strain of RPC on the compressive ultimate fiber in bending region and strain distribution in the section of beam under loads at every level, cracking load, ultimate load, and deformation and distribution and width of crack under loads at every level were studied. The test show that deformation and width of cracks of RPC beams are slightly larger than those of reinforced concrete beams under the same condition by the test data. By assuming that the descending brancht of the stress-strain curve of RPC used in the calculation of ultimate flexural carrying capacity is straight and combining with the test data analysis, the stress corresponding to the ultimate compressive strain of RPC can be found. Consequently, the stress-strain curve of RPC can be established. According to the stress-strain curve of RPC, the flexural carrying capacity calculation method of RPC beams can be obtained. Based on the test results, the stiffness and cracks calculation method of RPC beams are given.
