Abstract

In this paper, we propose for the first time an experimental investigation of 46.9nm laser with stepped pre-pulse current waveform. The temporal and spatial characteristics of the 46.9 nm laser output were measured under both conventional pre-pulse current waveforms and stepped pre-pulse current waveforms. Additionally, the effects of different gas pressures on the laser output characteristics were measured. The study indicates that the stepped pre-pulse current waveform is conducive to enhancing laser output energy and improving beam quality.
