Abstract

In this paper the influence of optical filters on regeneration performance in self-phase modulation (SPM) based regenerator is investigated experimentally. The center wavelength offset of the spectral slicing filter is optimized for achieving best performance. The Amplified. Spontaneous-Emission (ASE)-removing filter is critical for creating clear off-center spectral region and making signal regeneration feasible.
