Abstract
An experimental investigation was carried in a low speed annular wind tunnel. The energy loss evolution from upstream to downstream in the blade cascade channel with aft-loaded profiles was measured in detail. The results of the present study showed that energy loss was generated mainly in places near the leading and the trailing edges. Therefore, measurements were taken to improve the cascade performance by choosing the appropriate leading edge diameter, to provide a good match between the affecting length and the magnitude of adverse pressure gradient on suction surface, and to improve the static pressure distribution along the span height.
