Abstract
Modular construction is a process in which the building elements are mostly manufactured off-site, which would ensure better construction quality but shorter time to completion. As we look for more sustainable and greener constructions, building produced in "wood modules" is inherently a natural fit. In northern China, the level of technology is backward and the level of production and construction is limited. However, labour is cheaper and more common. In view of this situation, this paper describes an experimental construction. During the design process, affected by climate conditions in the north, the time for prefabrication in the factory is as long as possible, assembly time in the field will be shortened, the modular design will speed up the assembly efficiency, and the module size of the assembly module will be designed to save material and reduce waste. Due to the rough and low cost of artificial assembly in the north, in the aspect of the design of the structural module, some prefabricated connection structures are mainly designed to increase the degree of assembly. Finally, the design is verified through real construction, and problems are discovered and improved during the process.
