Abstract
The test on mechanical behaviors of 16 concrete columns with high strength core under axial compression load was carried out. Results showed that the peak compressive strain of the concrete with high strength core was higher than that of the external ordinary concrete under uniaxial compression, and the external ordinary concrete achieved the peak compressive strain earlier than the concrete with high strength core. The axial compression bearing capacity of the specimens was provided by both of the concrete with high strength core and the external ordinary concrete, but the resisting force of the two kinds of concrete must be adjusted by multiplying coefficient n1 and n2 respectively, which are involved in the difference of peak compressive strain between the concrete with high strength core and the external ordinary concrete. Based on the test results of 16 specimens and the simulation results of 189 concrete columns with high strength core, the coefficients n1 and n2 were obtained. The bearing capacity calculated by the formula given in this paper was in good agreement with experimental results.
