Abstract

The drag experiment of the supercavitating body under the natural condition and artificial ventilated condition is carried on, and the numerical simulation is performed using FLUENT6.0. The experimental data is analyzed according to the comparison between experiment and numerical simulation. The regulations of the drag of supercavitating body under the natural condition and artificial ventilated condition are found. The result shows that the drag of supercavitating body under natural condition is greatly increased compared with streamline body, but after the artificial ventilated supercavity is formed the drag is greatly decreased, and the drag reduced effect is better than streamline body.
