Abstract
Ceramic coating was fabricated on magnesium alloys by micro-arc oxidation in solution containing silicate, fluoride, hydroxide and glycerol at constant applied current density. Dynamic polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry curves (CV) and weight loss measurements were employed to evaluate the corrosion resistance of alloy substrate and ceramic coated magnesium alloy, all the results showed that the corrosion resistance could be improved considerably once micro-arc oxidation was employed on magnesium alloys.
