Abstract

The selection of structural design schemes consists of generation, evaluation and finalization of structural design schemes, and for evaluation of structural design schemes, a hierarchical structure must be established with all the factors having effect on the attributes of structural designs taken into consideration so that specific values can be worked out using data analysis and expertise as the bases for the decision-making process. The index system, weights and experts' comments used for evaluation of structural design schemes involve a lot of fuzzy information, and these fuzzy design information can be efficiently processed using fuzzy set theory and fuzzy inference. A fuzzy inference system (FIS) has been proposed for evaluation of structural design schemes. The construction and inference process is illustrated by the evaluation of high-rise building structural design schemes.
