Abstract

This paper details the electromagnetic behavior and the effects of magnetic and electromagnetic shields used in large power transformers based on engineering-oriented benchmark models, presents some newly calculated and measured results of both magnetic field and stray-field loss related to the models, and examines the engineering applicability of 3-D eddy current analysis methods and the practical loss modeling.
