Essential characteristics of habitat environment: A case study in sheffield

Abstract

This paper analyses the general characteristics of Sheffield unban environment, and points out that habitat environmental creation is more and more important during the rapid development of modern cities. Then the characteristic of Sheffield's habitat environment is discussed, followed by detailed description in four aspects of exceedingly picturesque parks and green spaces landscape, effective controlment of water environment, unsatisfactory building energy efficiency, insisting characteristic development. The paper points out that since the quality of the habitat environment plays an essential part in its aspirations for city development of economy and culture, only exerting the advantages fully and insist characteristic development, could let the urban habitat environmental developing at a fast pace into a more sustainable future.
