Abstract
We present a two-step method to achieve high-strength PCBN-M42 joints by employing a pre-melted CuNi layer combined with a Ti interlayer. Reliable interface bonding with PCBN is established through the Cu-Ni-Ti eutectic reaction while effectively retaining a considerable solid solution content within the joint, thus significantly enhancing the joint strength.
