Enhanced thermal management for high-heat-flux hotspot via diamond - vapor chamber integration

Abstract

Localized hot spots pose a significant challenge to the performance and reliability of vapor chambers (VCs). To address this, we propose a novel composite cooling solution integrating diamond with a VC. A comprehensive numerical model is developed, coupling the exceptional thermal conductivity of diamond with the intricate micro/nano-scale multiphase flow and phase-change heat transfer within the VC, to analyze the impact of diamond geometry on thermal management performance. The results demonstrate significantly enhanced thermal management capabilities and provide crucial theoretical guidance for the design of such novel composite thermal solutions.
