But the release of phosphorus from wastewater effluents has identified as the major causes of eutrophication in aquctic environment and the effluent standards are becoming more and more stringent. Thus, both biological and chemical phosphorus remove processes have been widely used to remove phosphorus from wastewater, as well as combined phosphorus removal and recovery processes. This review presents the current and emerging investigation on phosphorus removal and recovery. The purpose of this paper is to guide or inspire researchers who are seeking feasible and efficient systems and processes for phosphorus removal and recovery.",
