Abstract

The poly (ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol) (EVOH) non-wovens are prepared by the electrospinning technique. The influence factors the starting electric voltage (Vs), capillary-screen distance (C-SD), aqua density (WE) and flux which affect the fiber diameter and their distribution of the tiny bore occuring in the non-woven are discussed and the SEM is utilized to characterize the features of the non-woven. Results show that the non-woven can be prepared by the electrospinning technique when the Vs is 10-40 kV, C-SD is 20 - 30 cm, and the diameter of the fiber electrospin on this condition is around 0.8 - 5 μm; the diameter of the fiber is influenced mainly by WE and Vs, the diameter of the fiber increases with WE and decreases with Vs; the diameter of the bore in the non-woven is influenced greatly by the condition of receiver-plate and decreased with Vs.
