Abstract
Amorphous coatings Ni-Co-P were prepared by electrodepositon. The surface morphology and microstructure of Ni-Co-P coatings were observed by means of SEM and XRD. It was found that the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) of amorphous Ni-Co-P electrode was enhanced after the HF acid treatment procedure. The apparent morphology before and after treatment was contrasted. Compared with Ni-Co and Ni electrodes, electrocatalytic efficiency was evaluated on the basis of electrochemical steady-state Tafel polarization and potentiostatic test in 1 mol/L NaOH solution. The apparent energy of activation were 19.56, 46.29 and 57.03 kJ·mol-1 for the HER respectively. Amorphous coatings Ni-Co-P is catalytically more active.
