Abstract
Eigenstructure assignment via decentralized state feedback was investigated in a class of second-order dynamic systems. Under certain conditions, the parametric expressions of all the gain matrices and the closed-loop eigenvector matrices were established which offer all the design degrees of freedom. This parametric method directly utilized the original system data, involves computations only on n-dimensional matrices, and was thus simple and offers more convenience in control system designs. An illustrative example showed the effect of the proposed parametric method for second-order dynamic systems.
