Abstract

The eco-system of combined multistage pond (Anaerobic pond, facultative pond, aerobic pond and winter lagoon)-wetland was applied to carry out the enhanced treatment and utilization of petrochemical wastewater, with treatment capacity of 10,0000 m3/d; and in cold region, the combined eco-system showed good treating efficiency of petrochemical wastewater, the average values of COD, BOD5, TN, NH4+-N, TP and patron matter of effluent water from last treated unit reed wetland could reach 75.08, 7.51, 10.63, 5.12, 0.5 mg/L and oil 4.63 mg/L respectively. In plants growing seasons (May to October), the system's removal efficiency of each pollutant was better than the plants un-growing seasons; meanwhile, the storage pond of the system could achieve zero discharge of the wastewater in cold seasons (November to next May), which could guarantee the whole year's treating efficiency.
