Abstract

The numerical simulation of the effects of different suction slot geometries on the performance of compressor cascade when boundary layer suction is applied shows that boundary layer suction reduces the cascade losses significantly, improves the flow conditions and enhances the diffusion. When the suction rates hold constantly, the flow behavior is improved and the endwall losses are reduced further as the increase of the slot width. The slot angle has an obvious influence on the pressure inside the slot. The slot width and angle are two parameters in the design of compressor cascade with boundary layer suction.
