Abstract

Intensive quenching experiment was carried out on 20CrMnTi steel, and effect of intensive quenching process on the microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated. The results show that the microstructure and mechanical properties of 20CrMnTi steel intensive quenched by CaCl2 solution, liquid nitrogen respectively and intensive time quenched in CaCl 2 solution and liquid nitrogen are different The sample intensive time quenched in CaCl2 solution for 1 s and in liquid nitrogen for 4 s has preferable microstructure and mechanical properties, its tensile strength is 1 521 MPa, and the impact toughness is 1 392. 66 kJ/m2.which are enhanced remarkably compared with that of the one conventionally treated with carburizing and quenching.
