Abstract

As-cast Ti-43Al-9V-0.3Y alloy comprises γ phase, minor α2, B2 and YAl2, and its microstructure is lamellar structure (lamellar volume fraction of about 85%, lamellar colony size of about 80 μm). As-forged alloy comprises a large number of dynamicly recrystallized γ grains with sizes of 1-5 μm, and microstructure was drastically refined. As-rolled alloy consists of the fine near γ with size of about 20 μm and fine net-like B2 phases distributed along γ grains. The ultimate tensile strengths of about 510.6 and 425.8 MPa were obtained at room temperature and 700°C for as-cast alloy with the elongations of about 0.5% and 5.7%, respectively. After forging and rolling, the tensile properties of the alloy were greatly improved.
