Abstract
The effect of imperfect interfaces on the elastic moduli of particulate composite materials is studied. The interfaces are assumed to belong to a linear spring type. The average stress and strain in the inhomogeneity is obtained by using the elastic solution of a single inhomogeneity with imperfect interface. Taking into consideration for the interaction of the inhomogeneities in the composite, we use differential methods, self-consistent method and Mori-Tanaka method to obtain the effective moduli of the composite. A comparison of these methods under imperfect interface condition is given out at the end of this paper.
