Abstract
Different thermal deformations of M50 were made by using Gleeble 1500D thermal simulator. The states of large sized carbides distribution were evaluated by means of electron beam backscattered diffraction of Quanta 200FEG. The results show that when the thermal deformation is 20%, the large sized carbides of M50 steel have broken. As the thermal deformation increases 40%, the large sized carbides which had broken cluster together obviously. This conclusion is of great significance to study how to improve the distribution of the large sized carbides further.
