Abstract

This study aims to compare the effects of three different torque ripple suppression methods on motor vibration noise. Therefore, based on the spoke-type interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), a multi-field coupling analysis is conducted combining electromagnetic, structural, and acoustic fields to analyze the correlation between torque ripple suppression effect and vibration noise. The results show that the stator-shaped method has the best overall suppression effect on vibration and noise, although it results in relatively higher torque ripple. The suppression effect on vibration and noise of the rotor skewing method is secondary with the lowest torque ripple. The method of rotor auxiliary slots can reduce torque pulsation but is less effective in suppressing vibration noise.
