Abstract
The effect of reactor temperature on sawdust air gasification in an entrained-flow reactor was analyzed from energy and exergy aspects. The results indicated that the exergy values of component gases in the product gas are lower than the corresponding energy values, thereby making the exergy values of product gas be lower than the corresponding energy values. Although the component gases contribute differently to the energy and exergy values of product gas, the energy and exergy values of product gas share the same changing tendency when the reactor temperature increases, making the energy and exergy efficiencies of product gas show the same changing tendency, respectively. The energy and exergy efficiencies of unreacted carbon keep pace with the residual ratio, and nearly overlap, showing the same evaluation effect. In addition, exergy analysis can reflect the quality of energy, thereby showing superiority.
