Abstract

This paper studied the effects of Y on hot deformation ability of TiAl alloys under the conditions of different deformation temperatures and strain rates, and analyzed the change of the microstructures after the deformation. The hot deformation experiment results show that adding Y (0.3at%) can improve the high temperature deformability of Ti-43Al-9V alloy. The improvement is attributed to some possessing characteristics of the alloy, such as smaller grain size, lower resistance of deformation, and faster recrystallization and homogeneous recrystal grains.
