Abstract

The effect of rare-earth additives RE-1 and RE-2 on hard anodizing of LY12 aluminium alloy and on the property of the oxide coating was studied. The experimental results show that the RE-1 and RE-2 additives increase the coating forming voltage, improve the hardness, wear resistance of the oxide coating, and also increase the coating forming rate.
