Abstract

Aluminum and zinc oxide (ZAO) powders were prepared by chemical co-precipitation method. The calcination temperature, structure and micrograph were characterized by means of TG-DTA, XRD and SEM. The IR emissivity of ZAO powder materials was studied by IR-2 emissivity measurement. The results show that ZAO powders with the lowest IR emissivity is obtained under pH of 8.5, reaction time 2.5 h, calcination temperature 800°C, calcination time of 2 h and the Al2O3 content of 3%. The ZAO powders have pure lead-zinc ore structure, and the average particle size was 5-10 μm with ellipse shape. The IR emissivity of materials is low at bands of 3-5 μm and 8-14 μm.
