Abstract

The effect of pre-deformation and aging on stress corrosion properties of 2091 alloy was studied. Results show that the alloy which is subjected to the degree of 15% cold rolling, then aging for 5 h at 170°C, not only has high strength, but also presents a peak of elongation and best resistance to stress corrosion crack (SCC). Microstructures of the alloy under various conditions were analysed.
