Abstract
The controller of optimal fast valving with high feedback gains, especially the gain of speed signal, may lead to unstable shaft torsional oscillations. Two methods are presented in this paper to solve the problem: a conventional method using low-pass speed filter and a new one using combinatorial average speed. Compared with the low-pass speed filter method, the combinatorial average speed method can enhance shaft torsional stability and has less bad effect on the low frequency characteristics of system.
