Abstract

The paper discusses in detail the effects of metal pipe, asbestos-cement pipe, cement pipe, plastic pipe as well as asphaltic coat and cement-mortar linings in water supply pipelines on the quality of water supply including corrosion of pipe material, bacterial after-growth and seepage of chemical material, reviews the changes in quality of water in water supply pipelines through laboratory and field resting, and points out that toxicological and microbiological testing is an efficient way to ensure quality of water in pipelines.
