Abstract
The effect of illumination types on closed-boundary cylindrical microlenses (CBCMs) is investigated by rigorous electromagnetic theory and boundary element method. As a result, the focusing performance of CBCMs with different illumination types are different to each other, while the optics elements cannot be considered as pure phase element for small f-number.
