Abstract
In order to analyze the effect of hydrogen addition on the performance of natural gas engine, three different R-W methods for calculating combustion mass fraction were given first. Wiebe function was used to simulate the combustion process. The calculated combustion mass fraction using these three methods which were based on the simulated pressure was compared to that using the Wiebe function input, and the method with the best precision was selected to calculate the combustion mass fraction of natural gas engine with different fraction of hydrogen addition. The results show that RW-3 method has the highest precision for calculating combustion mass fraction, and with the increase of hydrogen fraction, the combustion speed increases and the combustion duration decreases obviously.
