Abstract

AbstractCu2Se powders were synthesized by Cu powders and Se powders with a stoichiometric ratio. Following cold pressing at 180 MPa and 150 MPa, Cu2Se samples were sintered by microwave sintering (WS), denoted as sample 1D and sample 2P, respectively. Sample 1D exhibits a dense layered microstructure, while sample 2P presents a layered microstructure with dispersed micron-sized pores. The existence of micron-sized pores significantly enhances phonon scattering and optimizes carrier properties of Cu2Se sample. Therefore, the ZT value of sample 2P was 2.5 times that of sample 1D at 798 K.
