Abstract

The effect of carbon fibers (Cf) on the thermophysical properties of titanium carbide (TiC) composites was studied. The temperature dependence of the thermal expansion, specific heat, thermal diffusion and thermal conduction of Cf/TiC composites. Thermophysical properties measurements were carried out in the range from room temperature to 1300°C. Measurement of thermal diffusivity was carried out by the laser flash method with disk samples of 10 mm diameter and approximately 2 mm thickness.
